Located in the relaxing and vibrant Las Olas area of Fort Lauderdale, he found the ocean-side living and growing economy to be both a great life and business environment. Much like his dad, Jim has a knack for photography. He was given his first camera at age 7, and became an adept photographer while in school. He continued to pursue photography after college, but also decided to serve his country and further his education. He completed programs at Valdosta State University, Texas A & M University, and the University of Arizona, where he later became an Assistant Professor. Jim left Tucson in 1994 for Washington DC where he supported the White House. He led a team of 20 providing daily support to the President’s travel team. In 1997 he retired from the Pentagon taking positions in the private sector software industry and eventually founded his photography business. Over 10 years in the software industry, he decided to leave his position at Oracle Corporation to manage his business full-time. Today Jim dedicates all his time running Hartman Impressions Photography, LLC as owner and photographer. He has two grown kids he frequently visits in Baltimore and San Francisco, and also family in Atlanta. He loves the outdoors, and can often be found golfing, fishing, or on early morning beach walks when he doesn’t have a camera in hand. Jim always looks forward to speaking to prospective clients, staying in touch with peers in the business, and most of all, capturing precious moments of life.
